Stephen Krasulick

Co-Founder, CEO & Chairman of the Board

Mr. Krasulick most recently served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Emcore Corporation’s Fiber Optics division and as a board member of Langfang Emcore Optoelectronics Ltd. Prior to joining Emcore, Mr. Krasulick was a member of the Executive Management team of Optium Corporation, which successfully achieved an IPO in 2006. Mr. Krasulick has also held senior management positions in JDS Uniphase Corporation, and began his career as an engineer at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Lisa Albrecht

Co-Founder, Vice President Operations

Ms. Albrecht brings to Skorpios over 15 years of business operations experience. Before founding Skorpios, she served as Manager of Human Resources at Emcore Corporation. In addition to managing the corporate HR activities, Ms. Albrecht was a key member of the team leading the integration of the acquired assets of Intel’s Optical Platform Division into Emcore’s Fiber Optics Division. Ms. Albrecht has worked for three different venture-funded start-up companies in various operational roles. In addition to her start-up experience, Ms. Albrecht has held operational roles at both Honeywell and Nextel Communications. Ms. Albrecht has a B.S. from Kansas State University.

Brian Griffiths

Chief Financial Officer

Brian Griffiths joined Skorpios in September 2016 as chief financial officer. In his role as CFO, Griffiths oversees the finance, accounting, M&A and investor relations’ functions. Prior to joining Skorpios, Griffiths was an investment banker and advisor to the technology sector. During his 25-year investment banking career, he worked on capital-raising and strategic transactions with many of the leading technology companies globally. Most recently, Griffiths was a senior managing director at Guggenheim Partners in New York. Prior to that, he was a managing director at Credit Suisse in New York and London. Griffiths earned an M.S. in Accounting from New York University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

John Hamma

Senior Vice President, Services Business Unit

John Hamma brings a track record of building successful sales teams, winning market share and growing top line revenue to his role as VP of the Foundry Services Business Unit at Skorpios Technologies. As a Senior Executive with 20+ years of General Management and Global Sales experience in the Semiconductor industry, John has managed $200M annual revenue streams and sales teams of 20+ people. His former roles include executive sales positions at Novati Technologies, SVTC, Lam Research and Akrion Systems. John holds a BS and BE in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Alfredo Viglienzoni

Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets

Alfredo Viglienzoni joins Skorpios from Ericsson’s IP and Broadband Unit, where he held multiple positions including Director of Business Development, Head of Strategic Programs, and Head of $1.2B Optical Product Business. His product responsibility included Ethernet transport nodes, multi service provisioning platforms, and photonic systems e.g. WDM for edge, metro and core applications. Prior to Ericsson, Alfredo was Head of Photonics for Marconi, at sites in the UK, Italy and Germany. He developed the first MultiHaul photonic platform, which has been widely deployed in many Core and Metro applications and grew from $40M in 2004 to $450M in 2006. During his career, Alfredo has also held both technical and senior management positions at companies including 3M, Pirelli and Cisco. He holds more than 10 unique patents and has published multiple papers on innovation and business management, material science and telecommunications. He received his degree in Physics from the University in Genova cum laude. He also got a post doc at University of Geneva and CERN, Geneva, Switzerland.

Faisal Nabulsi

Senior Vice President, Manufacturing & Operations

Faisal brings to Skorpios over 27 years of experience in Infrastructures and Processes of High Tech Semi-Conductor Industries. He has a strong background in Operations, Manufacturing, R&D and Engineering from his years at Bell Labs, AT&T/Lucent Technologies and Zia Laser Inc., among others. He most recently spent 9 years at Rubicon Technology as SVP of Operations. There, he was responsible for Operations, Engineering and R&D of Crystal Growth and material fabrication through the manufacturing of complete Epitaxial ready polished Sapphire wafers, Yield Management and productivity improvement of the entire business. At Zia Laser, he was responsible for designing and establishing the optoelectronics packaging technique (Quantum Dot Laser) to build prototypes quickly and affordably. Faisal holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Glenn Li

Vice President, Technology Development

Dr. Li most recently was a Consulting Member of Technical Staff at Oracle, where he led Si photonic device development and managed multiple tape outs fabricated in a commercial CMOS process. He started his career at Bell Labs in 2001. His notable accomplishments include: designed 40Gb/s modulators and EMLs for telecom applications at Agere Systems; developed the world’s first deployed 10Gb/s Si Mach-Zehnder modulator at Luxtera; developed X2 and SFP+ transceivers for 10Gb/s Ethernet applications at Intel; and developed a ring resonator based WDM Si photonics platform at Sun Microsystems and Oracle. Dr. Li has contributed more than 100 journal articles, book chapters and conference talks. He holds more than a dozen of granted US patents, with more than a dozen pending. He has a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.

John Zyskind

Vice President, Engineering, Quality & Reliability

Dr. John Zyskind most recently led the development of high capacity advanced modulation format transponders for DWDM optical networks at Mintera and, following Mintera’s acquisition, at Oclaro where he served as Director of System Engineering. He also has experience leading the development of optical communications products at Sycamore Networks, Optovia and JDSU. He began his career in the optical communications industry at Bell Laboratories where his path-breaking work on optical amplifiers and DWDM systems was reported in over 200 refereed publications as well as book chapters and invited talks. Dr. Zyskind received a Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology. Among his honors and awards are election a a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, the Distinguished Member of Technical Staff Award at Bell Laboratories, the Bell Laboratories President’s Gold Award for High Capacity DWDM Transmission and, during his doctoral studies, the Fannie and John Hertz Fellowship.

Damien Lambert

Vice President, Process Engineering

Dr. Damien Lambert brings to Skorpios over 19 years of experience in III-V crystal growth, III-V wafer fabrication and die fabrication. His experience includes fabrication of photonic components such as lasers, gratings, multiplexers, EMAmodulators, MZ modulators, and photodiode detectors. Before joining Skorpios, Dr. Lambert worked at Infinera, Inc. where he was responsible for management and technical leadership in the manufacturing of compound semiconductor Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC). Dr. Lambert was a key member of the technical team leading the development and integration of new generation of PICs including design, fabrication, and performance analysis. He helped transfer the technology from development to high volume manufacturing. Dr. Lambert has contributed more than 70 journal articles, book chapters and conference talks. He holds more than 10 granted US patents and has a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.

Jim Vandevere

Vice President

Jim brings to Skorpios over 25 years of great success in R&D to Product Commercialization, Strategic Business Planning, Profitability Analysis and Development Validation from his experience in the Telecom and Medical Device Industries. Jim joins us from LiteCure where he served as VP of Operations; for 6 years he guided the company through increased growth while driving the completion o ISO-13485 certification, FDA compliance and regulatory affairs. Earlier in his career, Jim held responsibility for testing, validating, inspecting and shipping DWDMproduct, as System Integration Leader at Ciena. He contributed to Ciena, at the time, becoming the largest IPO in the telecom market. As Operations Leader at Qtera, he oversaw the manufacturing of Ultra Long Haul DWM systems. He successfully implemented and integrated their Oracle ERP system with their documentation, testing and training systems. He also worked with the executive team in the sale of Qtera to Nortel Networks.

Andrew Bonthron

Vice President, IC Engineering

Andrew brings to Skorpios over 20 years of experience in high-speed integrated circuit design as well a track record of success in highly innovative start-up companies. Prior to joining Skorpios, Andrew served as VP of Engineering at Semtech Corp. where he came in through the acquisition of Sierra Monolithics, Inc. At Semtech and Sierra Monolithics, Andrew was responsible for the development of next generation NRZ and PAM-4 Driver and TIA circuits for optical communications systems, as well as highly-integrated millimeter-wave point-to-point communications chipsets in advanced SiGe processes. Prior to Sierra Monolithics, Andrew was a key member of the technical team at Multilink Technology Corp., leading the development of a wide variety of Driver, TIACDR, and Module products for the optical communications markets, generating substantial product revenues and ultimately contributing to a successful IPO.

David Hochenedel

Vice President, Sales

David brings to Skorpios over 18 years of experience in focused technical sales and account management. Prior to joining Skorpios, David was responsible for sales account management at Luxtera, Owlink, Microchip, and Texas Instruments. At Luxtera and Owlink, David was focused on optical semiconductor and product sales, generating new multi-million dollar design wins, in many cases from no previous sales history. During his time at Texas Instruments, David was responsible for developing and growing customers in Southern California region, most notably Qualcomm, a $40M/year customer. David earned a BS Electrical Engineering degree from University of California, San Diego in 1999.
