Skorpios Technologies, Inc, an innovator in composite silicon photonic technology, is rapidly expanding. We are in search of hard-working, motivated, and innovative engineers to develop leading-edge technology solutions in a challenging and fast-paced environment. BS, MS, and Ph.D. (EE, ME, Physics, Material Science, or related fields) are sought to work on design development and commercialization of integrated nanoscale opto-electronic, and photonic devices and systems. Suitable backgrounds include: Opto-electronic device design, nanophotonics, silicon photonics, III-V materials, laser design, RF-circuits, silicon based circuit design and transistors, and Opto-electronic device packaging. Commercial experience highly preferred.

Open Positions

  • Title: Engineer - Firmware
  • General Function
    The Firmware Engineer will analyze, design, program, develop, validate, debug, and modify firmware and software of high-tech devices. This new role will require working closely with multi-level engineers to achieve top tier results. Job title will be in-line with experience and level of success.
  • Education & Experience (basic minimum requirements)
    • B.S., or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
    • 5 years of industry/commercial experience.
    • Applicants with less than a B.S. degree and exceptional experience will be considered.
    • Fluency in electrical engineering fundamentals and familiarity with systems integration.
  • Title: Engineer - Engineer – Optical Devices
  • General Function
    The Optical Device Engineer will develop highly advanced devices tailored for our unique technology platform from concept to manufacturing. This is a hands-on role that will include optical and electrical simulations, design for fabrication and testing, design review and report, collaborate with layout engineers, characterization of devices, data analysis, and performance reports. Job title will be in-line with level of experience and success.
  • Education & Experience (basic minimum requirements)
    • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, or a closely related field.
    • 5 years of hands-on industry experience in optical communications, fiber optics, integrated optics, or semiconductors.
    • Must have a proven track record of success, from concept to manufacturing.
  • Title: Hardware Design
  • General Function
    The Engineer – Hardware Design will be focused on developing electronics for new optical pluggable transceivers, providing RF and Optical circuit design for transceiver development projects. This new role will require simulation and modeling of RF circuitry used in amplifiers and fiber optic transmitters and receivers. The Engineer will develop transceivers that will use novel optical Silicon Photonics chipsets, developed by Skorpios Technologies. This is a hands-on role requiring an engineer to deliver novel and complex designs. Job title will be in-line with experience and success.
  • Education & Experience (basic minimum requirements)
    • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, or a closely related field.
    • 10 years of industry/commercial experience designing RF circuits and/or optical transceivers.
    • Must have a proven track record of success.
  • Title: Engineer - Processing
  • General Function
    The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing the processes to produce repeatable, high yielding integrated state-of-the-art silicon photonic devices. The Process Engineer must possess broad hands-on knowledge of deposition, CMP, dry-etch, wet-etch, and photolithography.
  • Education & Experience (basic minimum requirements)
    • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineer, Material Science, or a closely related field.
    • 5 years of hands-on commercial/industry experience in an optical component manufacturing setting.
    • Experienced in building full development process flows, with the know-how to integrate all process modules from start to finish.
  • Title: Engineer - Silicon Photonics
  • General Function
    The Silicon Photonics Engineer will perform design development and commercialization of integrated nanoscale optoelectronic photonic devices and systems. The Engineer will develop cutting edge passive and active nanophotonic devices in silicon, such as waveguides, resonant structures, couplers, and modulators. This position will also be responsible for the specification, modelling, design and characterization of devices. Must be hands-on and able to deliver on aggressive commitments and project schedules. Job title will be in-line with level of experience and success.
  • Education & Experience (basic minimum requirements)
    • B.S, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics or other closely related field.
    • 5 years or more of industry/commercial experience.
